Moose on the beach wearing 10 spf

Sorry for not checking in for a few days. Work has dominated my mind, sucked up all my energy and prevented me from blogging. Facing the lap top after a long day of working on a comp., not happening.

Bob Marley helped. So did body pump, two mid-week visits from Matt and Wednesday's Lia Sophia party (more on that tomorrow).

"Don't worry about a thing, cause every little thing gonna be alright"

Alas, it is Friday. My hopes and dreams for this weekend include the beach, the shore and the ocean (what do you call it?). To fulfill my sun tanning aspirations I did what any melanoma aware individual would do, I went to replace the screen. Soooooo right now CVS and RiteAid are selling everything below 6 spf and everything above 30. What about 8? 15? Nope. 100? Who wears 100? Does 100 even work? I'm not walking away from this weekend pale OR burnt. After some serious scoping, I found a 10. Ten? Since when does sunscreen come in spf 10? I didn't ask. I should have, clearly I am full of questions. I just bought. It smells like coconuts.

I wonder if I will see a moose? Don't laugh, look!

Shutter Island, if you haven't seen the movie yet, DON'T! If you haven't read the book, DO! I strongly recommend. Psychologically thrilling, mysterious and captivating. Shutter Island, by Dennis Lehane, submerges the reader in a constant state of suspense and eerie surrealism. From beginning to end, I was confused but intrigued. I knew the author was building towards something explosive and amazing I just had to work through the mystery and vague details. The end, oh the end, the last 100 pages are the epitome of mind blowing suspense. Lehane delivers a compelling page turner throughout, but the climax is what turned this ride wild. Color me impressed with Shutter Island.

Next up: The Help by Kathryn Stockett. I look forward to diving into this story basking in my 10 sunscreen on the beach tomorrow.

Pardon my enthusiasm but I got mail today! Like real, delivered by the post man, in the mail box, mail. Is there anything better?

I won a few giveaways the other week. hehe. Kristin's Subway gift card and Meghan's Olivia's Organics coupons! Winnah winnah subway spinach dinnah.

Happy weekend!

  2. I heard somewhere that really anything over 30 is pointless? But maybe it's just something I read... not sure?

And nice work on the giveaways! Gotta love free lunch!

  3. Have fun at the beach, and avoiding sunburn. Ouch! Today, I suspect, will be beautiful. It's delightfully cool now, at 7: 30 in the a.m.

I have "Shutter Island" waiting in a line of books I intend to read soon.

"The Help" is one of my all-time favorite books. I was so sad when I achieved the last page because that meant it was over. And then I wished I hadn't read it so I could read it all over again for the first time.

Looking forward to hear what you think about it.

    Congratulations on your win!
    =)
